Therapeutic Relaxation Massage Therapy
Therapeutic relaxation massage takes the smooth flow of a relaxation treatment and adds in healing techniques that help to ease injury, pain or disease. Each therapeutic case starts with an assessment to ensure the best treatment plan, with the goal of restoring your body's natural ability to heal and find balance.
What to Expect at Your First Treatment
Arrival
On your first visit, plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete your health history form (or to save time, complete the form emailed to you in advance). Keep in mind that if you’re driving, you may need a little extra time for parking.
Intake
Next, you will head to the treatment room with your therapist. There, you will review your health concerns, complete relevant assessments, discuss a treatment plan, and cover any further questions you may have.
Prep
You will then be left alone to disrobe (you may undress down to your comfort level). For your privacy and safety, you’ll remain covered by the linens at all times. Only the part of the body being worked on will be uncovered.
Enjoy
Every treatment is uniquely suited to your needs. Open communication about your experience throughout the treatment is invited. You are welcome to initiate as much or as little conversation as you like.

Swedish Massage
Long, gliding strokes encourage circulatory health. Kneading and scooping techniques help loosen tight muscles and encourage a relaxed, blissful state of mind
-

Dynamic Cupping
Myofascial cupping encourages healing by creating a suction on the skin using silicone cups that pull up underlying tissues and fluids close to the surface of the skin.
-

PNF Stretching
Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching is technique where the muscle is stretched and contracted using resistance to increase range of motion.
-

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy uses compression and stretch to release the palpable nodules that create pain and sensitivity associated with trigger points.
-

Myofascial Release
Fascia that is rigid and fixed is treated with sustained, light pressure and stretches. This technique can loosen restricted connective tissues and alleviate pain.
-

Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage uses light, rhythmic strokes to encourage the flow of lymph through the body, which can lead to feeling relaxed and lighter.
-

Auricular Therapy
Auricular Therapy is an integrative reflexology treatment that uses acupressure on the ear. This treatment can help treat digestion, low mood, or insomnia.
-

Active Release
In this technique, varying levels of pressure are applied to muscle tissue while actions and movements are performed by the client.
-

Sound Healing
In some sessions sound healing is used in the treatment, including the use of intentional music, tuning forks, crystal bowls, or a rattle.
-

Nourishing Lotion
No chemical lotions here. We use 100% organic, cold-pressed babassu oil, which is nutrient-rich, hypoallergenic, and low-comedogenic.
