Meet Carissa

Carissa’s experience with holistic health and alternative medicine is the foundation of her practice.

Carissa’s approach is nurturing, attentive, gentle, and restorative. She specializes in therapeutic relaxation massage to help treat pain and symptoms of stress and anxiety. By focusing on soothing the nervous system with skilled touch, the systems of healing in the body are supported.

Her treatments typically combine a variety of techniques, such as Swedish massage, PNF stretching, and passive release. She also may use subtle healing techniques, such as reflexology, vagus nerve stimulation, sound healing, breath work, and energy work in her approach.

You can expect a custom, client-focused treatment that initiates the healing of body and mind. The treatment room is dedicated to bring calm, peace, and deep restedness to body and mind.

“The therapist Carissa took the time to listen to my concerns and made sure to focus on the areas where I needed the most attention. Their technique was just perfect, combining the right amount of pressure and various massage styles to suit my preferences. I could tell they were genuinely dedicated to providing the best possible experience.”

Carissa did a fantastic job. She was extremely knowledgeable in any questions I asked about the anatomy. Extremely kind and clearly has a passion for this career. I left there getting the best sleep I’ve had in months. I’ve already booked in again with her and can’t wait for my next visit.

What is your approach to massage?

When the body and mind are given space to relax, it is able to do it’s deepest healing work. Carissa’s approach supports this by providing a calm, nurturing, and relaxing environment to help address:

    • Stress and anxiety
    • Emotional burden
    • Neck and shoulder pain
    • Insomnia
    • Fibromyalgia
    • TMJD

Carissa works to create a gentle environment for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs). She welcomes people with sensory processing sensitivity into the treatment space.

Do you offer deep tissue massage?

Carissa’s approach to deep tissue massage is not about causing pain or using heavy pressure. It is about understanding of the layers of the muscles in the body and how they will relax, lengthen and release. Most techniques are applied with medium to light pressure. Carissa’s believes that when the body and mind relax, the body can do its best healing work.
